Violence Against Women Act reauthorized but details need to be resolved

Following up on this article, I have learned here that the Senate voted unanimously on Tuesday to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. This page confirms that S.1197 passed the Senate unanimously. Because of a number of strange amendments to the House version, this bill will now go to conference committee for resolution, but the Senate's action does ensure that vital programs continue.
