Pittsburgh Presbytery meeting on June 1: D. Improving pastoral care

Near the beginning of the meeting of Pittsburgh Presbytery on June 1, 2006 at the Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Janet Edwards made an announcement of a brown bag lunch to be held at the Presbytery Center on Monday, January 12, 2006.

The Pittsburgh Presbytery Task Force on Ministry with Sexual Minorities will host a discussion on Pastoral Care for our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Members.

The conversation is scheduled for 11:30 to 1:00 in the Great Room. Elder Michael Adee of the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe, a national field organizer for More Light Presbyterians, will be present.

More information is available on the Presbytery's site here.

During the Presbytery meeting I stopped at the information booth for the Task Force, and found it unstaffed. But it was clear that ministers and elders from across the theological spectrum were signing up for more information about how to improve the church's pastoral care for these groups of our brothers and sisters.
