It is important to keep responsibility where it belongs.On the home front, Fishman argues that critics are wrong when they say that Wal-Mart puts little people out of business. We (consumers) put little people out of business, he says. We vote with our wallets, and we're the ones who choose Wal-Mart over local stores.

Keeping responsibility where it belongs
Today's Valley News Dispatch has a column by Kathleen Parker entitled "Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers: Let your conscience guide you." Discussing a recent book by Charles Fishman, The Wal-Mart Effect, the column is particularly timely for the Valley as new Wal-Mart stores prepare to open in Frazer and Harrison.
